On Sustainability

As Barena Group grows, so does our responsibility to our stakeholders, society and the planet. We know that we have an impact on ESG issues, such as supply chain management, deforestation, climate change, social justice, and that these issues also impact how we do business.

Together with our stakeholders, we are responsible for making our supply chain more traceable. We work with a third party to trace all of raw material sources. We are tackling climate change by reducing our own greenhouse gas emissions and addressing biodiversity loss through working directly with our supply partners.

While we do not have complete control over climate issues in our value chain, through engaging our smallholder farmers, our supply partners, on how they can reduce their footprint through Good Agricultural Practices, to name a few.

We have direct impact our community where we operate, for example, most of our factory workers come from the community surrounding our factory. We are also actively managing risks through internal policies at Group and for suppliers, ensuring an inclusive and empowering environment for all workforce, and actively engaging in the communities where we operate.

While we comply with all relevant human rights obligations in Indonesia, we also work to protect human and labour rights in our own operations, for example through internal policies and procedures regarding the treatment of employees.
